ADR

What is ADR?

ADR is the European agreement on the international carriage of dangerous goods by road. It sets rules on classification, packaging, labelling, documents and requirements for vehicle and driver.

Also called: dangerous goods, hazardous goods, UN number

ADR applies when dangerous goods – such as flammable liquids, gases or corrosive substances – are carried by road. Goods are divided into classes, and each substance has a UN number.

The shipper must classify, pack and label the goods correctly and state the UN number, class and quantity. The driver must hold an ADR certificate, and the vehicle must carry the required equipment.

If you ship dangerous goods, always state the UN number and class when booking.
