SDR (Special Drawing Rights)
What is SDR (Special Drawing Rights)?
SDR is a unit of account issued by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Many transport conventions state liability limits in SDR.
Also called: special drawing rights
SDR (Special Drawing Rights) is a basket of major currencies, and the rate changes daily. When compensation is calculated, SDR is converted into the local currency at the rate on the relevant day.
In road transport (CMR) the limit is 8.33 SDR per kilo. Ocean and air freight have other limits under their own rules.
