FTL (full truck load)

What is FTL (full truck load)?

FTL (full truck load) is a shipment where one customer hires the whole truck – whether or not it is completely full.

Also called: full truckload, full load

With a full load, goods go directly from shipper to consignee without transhipment. This gives shorter transit times and less handling than groupage.

The price depends mainly on distance, the route (e.g. bridges, ferries and road tolls) and any empty running. A full load typically equals 13.6 LDM or 33 EUR pallets.

The opposite is groupage / LTL.
