POD (proof of delivery)
What is POD (proof of delivery)?
A POD (proof of delivery) documents that the goods have been delivered – usually the consignee's signature with date and time, often with a photo.
Also called: proof of delivery, delivery receipt
The POD shows when and to whom the goods were delivered, and whether the consignee noted any damage or shortages. It is used for invoicing and for claims.
In road transport, the POD is often the signed CMR note or a digital receipt from the driver's app.
